Grade 9 students have been busy over the past few days putting together some chants/raps in rhythm. They are now just beginning the recording process of putting down their rhythms on a recorded track in GarageBand. Next, they will effect their voices in a way that they see suitable for their style.
In the end, it is the hope that we can learn the importance of time signatures and strong vs weak beats. This will be internalized by the students as they listen to their recordings and hear the wrong syllables receiving the accent.
